English!
Normally, there are few, if any, pictures for English class. It's just the nature of the subject. Well, there still aren't any pictures to post, but Mrs. Gonwa is proud to present many of your literary works! Read & be swept away by your and your classmates' literary talents!!

Pain
You’re hurt, I can’t say why But I still see the strong pain. It’s in your eyes. You’ve been hit, You’ve been teased, You’ve been locked up underneath. I can help. Tell me how. My love will come around. Tell me what I can do and I will do it for you.

This Little Fishy
How long must I wait for this lil’ fishy to catch my bait.
Sweet is the sorrow I’ll catch the fish by tomorrow or forevermore I will wait.

Dreams Can Be The Enemy
Dreams can be the enemy like a dream gone bad. You’re tossing and turning and can’t get away. You’re running and running, but still the enemy is behind you. You try screaming, but nothing comes out. At this point, you are frightened. You do everything to wake up. Then you realize… you’re not dreaming. You are awake.

Please Help!
Listen here, Mister Teacher, I tell you there is something wrong. Most know, but won’t admit even though they’ve seen him get hit.
He shouldn’t have to live and suffer; his home is not a place I’d like to be. Listen here, Mister Teacher, I tell you there is something wrong.
I promised not to tell his secret, but I can’t hold it in any more. I fear for his life. It is in danger. No one is strong enough to help.
Listen here, Mister Teacher, I tell you there is something wrong. He needs someone there for him in order to stay strong.

My Darkness
My darkness. You are the sun. My anger. You are my joy. My pain. You are my healer. My worries. You are my comfort. My obstacles. You are my answer. My darkness. You are the sun.

Voices
Necessary voices echo like a lost voice at sea. No one will listen. No one will hear. Echoing voices are lost forever.

Dreams Can Be The Enemy The monsters scaring. The everlasting running. You try to get away but you grow slower and they gain speed. Your screams are not even heard from the outside world. In a blink of an eye you awake again and no longer are you by the enemy.

Friends One is there to tell you it’s okay. One is there to walk just with you. One is there to be your friend on and off to show you what the hard times are like. One is there to show you the truth and then they’re gone. Others just stay for a little while then they leave you crying, but all these friends will stay in your heart.

Forever How long must I wait? Summer to winter Spring to fall I’ll wait forever I’ll remember No matter when White as snow, dark as sky It won’t matter even if I die.
One day we’ll be together Time won’t hold us back Nor distance of this path We’ll be together, my friend.
I won’t forget you No matter what It’s summer, now fall Winter, now spring Leaves bring memories Of our happiness Now they bring sorrow and Such sadness in my soul How long must I wait?
We will stand together Standing side by side Dreaming of a better place Where we won’t have to hide.
In the end, we are just human but we will never die for life It is eternal everlasting light of God Who will save our souls So we can stand together Now and forever.
I no longer have to wait We are here together But never shall we wake Now and forever. Michelle Gorsuch, 8th grade

Fooled By Appearances You wouldn’t question the smiles. You wouldn’t wonder what’s wrong. She’s strong on the outside. Inside she thinks no one cares. Her friends don’t see her sadness, even though she never smiles. They think she just doesn’t know how to smile and that’s all.
Sweet is the sorrow of the tears that shine. Without them she can’t survive. Behind all the tears lies her smile that she never shows. She doesn’t know when or where but she knows that someday her smile will show again.
Chanise Bruggink and Kelly Prochaska, 8th graders
